World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Please tell us about yourself.
I graduated from School for Deaf children in Sofia, Bulgaria with a professional qualification of tailoring and culinary. Then I started my higher education at University of Library Studies and Information Technologies in bachelor program of Library Management. I studied for the third year and stopped because of the birth of my child. I would like to continue my education when my son Victor goes to the kindergarten next year. I was very young when my mother died. I lived in a Catholic monastery during the weekends and school holidays. I am very grateful to the nuns who took care of me and helped me to deal with difficulties in my life. In 2006 I graduated a three-month massage course at the National Sports Academy in Sofia and in 2008 I graduated in Hairdressing. I love my family too much. I like to be a mother. My son Victor is the great love of my life but I am an ambitious woman and want to do a professional career. When I graduate would like to be a manager. I will combine the care of my family with my work. I’m sure I’ll be doing fine because I’m a very motivated person.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Tell us about your pageant history.
I competing in my first pageant when I was a student. I participated in several beauty contests and won prizes, so I’m interested in following up on upcoming competitions. For the World Class Beauty contest I learned from Facebook and Instagram, I looked at the site and interested in taking part in this great event and sent my pictures.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What inspired you to do your first pageant?
In the first contest Miss Ball 2009 I participated as a joke. My girlfriend gave me the idea and I thought it would be fun. When I won, I felt very happy.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?
I’ve won three other Beauty contests after the first in 2009. Some of my notable titles are: Miss Silence Bulgaria, 2012 – 2 prize
Miss Deaf Bulgaria, 2013 – 1 prize
Miss Deaf Bulgaria, 2014 – 1 prize
Miss United Nations Pageant is a natural continuation of my career.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about?
The first condition to participate in this contest is to be over 21 years old, to have an official civil marriage on the date you sent the form and of course to be beautiful.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition?
At the beginning of the competition I was very active – sent information and my pictures to them if they wanted to support me. Then I visited Facebook but not every day because of my family responsibilities. I felt great when I saw that not only my friends but many other people who I don’t know liked me and supported me. That was very motivating for me.
World Class Beauty Queens: How was your experience during the competition.
I gained experience and improved ways to present myself and my skills. It was very important to me that I learned to dance a difficult but very beautiful Bulgarian folk dance. I am proud of this my achievement because I do not hear the music, I am deaf, but I am heading for the rhythm of vibration. It was not easy for me but I succeeded.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform.
As the winner of these competitions I was able to participate in many charity events. In 2014 together with a group of my girlfriends organized a fairy tale reading for deaf children in the kindergarten and primary school for deaf. They were devoted to Easter. Many of these children have no parents. I am also an orphan and I know how happy they feel when have special attention to them. We managed to secure sponsorship from a prestigious Bulgarian insurance company and gave gifts to children. The happiness I experienced while watching the joy in the child’s eyes cannot be described in words.
World Class Beauty Queens: What appearance have you done with your title?
I participated in a charity campaign to raise funds for deaf people with physical disabilities who are disadvantaged. The campaign ended with a charity concert of the pantomime formation & Art Mim and the Union of the Deaf in Bulgaria. I and my followers gathered funds and made special escalator in a residential building of our friend who is in a wheelchair. Now he comes to his school without assistance.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of you achievements?
Miss Silence Bulgaria, 2012; Miss Deaf Bulgaria, 2013; Miss Deaf Bulgaria, 2014
World Class Beauty Queens: What is your onstage strategy to win the judges over?
First I intend to win with an official dress by best expressing the style with bright colors and a simple cut. I will apply the skills for the finesse and the grace of the movements. I studied with good professionals. I think I will be most attractive when I dress in Bulgarian folk costumes. The Bulgarian folk costumes are one of the most beautiful in the world. I am proud that I am Bulgarian and I will bet that I show the natural beauty and charm of the Bulgarian woman.
World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?
The fact that I am a mixed marriage – Vietnamese father and Bulgarian mother make me quite different as a vision. I am exotics. Besides, I’m very open, genuine, and friendly to everyone and to all. I am creative, practice applied arts. I believe in myself and succeed in everything I started to do. I was very excited. I did not expect to win, but when I saw my name I realized that deep down I always had the feeling that I deserve this title. For me to be a Beauty Queen means recognition for your beauty and opportunities, and yet a sign of anticipation, a lot of new contacts that help your professional and spiritual improvement. I have the ambition to perfect myself throughout my life.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did it feel to hear your name as the winner?
I was very excited. I did not expect to win, but when I saw my name as a winner I realized that deep inside I always felt like I deserved this title.
World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen?
This means recognition of your beauty and possibilities. Being Beauty Queen means prestige and many new contacts that will help your professional and spiritual improvement. My ambition is to improve throughout my life.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life?
At first I had to compete with my life. I had to cope with the difficulties in life and survive because I am an orphan and I did not have the support of my parents. I was trying to acquire a lot of knowledge and skills to be useful. Then I fought for my beloved man and he became my husband. I am very happy with him. I hope he is happy with me. Now I compete with myself. My principle in life is to compare only with yourself. Today I’m better than yesterday.
World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?
Being Beauty Queen is a great joy but it is also a great responsibility. I would like to tell all girls to listen to their hearts and, as Oprah Winfrey says, they are not afraid to follow the path of their dreams because it is the greatest adventure. I would add that this is the greatest happiness and satisfaction.
World Class Beauty Queens: What have you learned from practicing your walk.
On my walk I learned not to be afraid to risk, to learn every day, to be natural and to love with all my heart.
World Class Beauty Queens: What have you learned from choosing the dress for the competition?
I consulted with designers for my first competitions. They have given me recommendations and guidance on what color combinations and patterns are right for me but then I decided to trust myself. I choose a dress in bright colors that have a character and in which I feel red and beautiful.
World Class Beauty Queens: What have you learned from the interview portion of the competition?
It is very important to have a clear vision of yourself and your goals. I also learned that you must have an active citizenship and be interested in the fate of the state you live in.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2018 as a Queen?
I have the desire and the ambition to work to improve the quality of life of Bulgarian deaf people. My idea is to organize a course of sign language for hearing people together with the Deaf Union in Bulgaria. This course will help to have more professional translators in Bulgaria who will help deaf people. Besides, I would like to create a school for pantomime and dance for deaf children along with a formation.
World Class Beauty Queens: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?
I hope to promote the United Nations Pageant competition and to inspire more girls to participate in this wonderful event.
