World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do pageant?
Aruba: Hahaha, it’s funny but when I was a little girl I won a pageant, we were 5 girls competing at someone’s house. After they crowned me, big sister of a girl came up the stage, took my crown and placed it on her little sister’s head. It was also their house so there was nothing I could have done. I told myself that day “the day will come when I will win again and the crown will be mine to embrace.”

World Class Beauty Queens: What do pageant mean to you?
Aruba: It is a responsibility given to be the spokeswoman and a role model for women and that it doesn’t matter your age, if there’s a dream or an ambition work for it, don’t give it up!

World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you a winner?
Aruba: I am glad to get this question. Like Marie Hartwell-Walker said: “Let’s first define “winning.” For my purposes here, winning means meeting a long-sought- after goal. It means working at something that is important to you and accepting setbacks, even failures. It means tweaking and fixing and redoing if necessary and still moving on. It means not giving up. It means striving for excellence. It means sticking to something until the outcome is excellent.” That is what makes me a winner.

World Class Beauty Queens: Please tell us about your platform appearances and achievements.
Aruba: Well, as an ex victim of domestic violence I am grateful to God that I learned how to be strong and work on my self-confidence and to love myself more. Currently I am delivering messages to “women in difficulty”. I try to help woman gain self-esteem and help them realize that they should not accept nor settle for less than what they deserve. We pray to start, we talk, we play and we pray again to close the meeting. I also volunteer to help children with special needs and Mary Joan Foundation breast cancer awareness: we stand together, we fight together, we are STRONGER together!

World Class Beauty Queens: What part of the competition you find more exciting?Aruba: This whole experience is an excitement for me. It’s an honor to be able to represent my beautiful happy island Aruba.

Aruba: I plan on doing the same thing that l am doing now and much more.  I will make it count. I will work to use my title as a voice to help convince the government to consider the law of giving bible lessons at primary schools to bring the message, so that the children will fear and love God at a young age and also to work on the norms and values of the youth, that is vanishing more and more each day.
